Project Description
The North Kildonan M.B. Church was constructed on the corner of Springfield and Gateway in North Kildonan. The design build project was initiated in July of 1999 and occupancy for the gymnasium occurred in June of 2001. Boge and Boge provided the prime consultant, structural engineering and architectural drawing services as well as managing and overseeing the site, architectural, acoustical, mechanical and electrical consulting services. Boge managed the work form from conceptual to final design including working documents, site reviews and occupancy.
The church included 45,000 square feet of building area and parking for 514 vehicles. The project cost was augmented by volunteer labour and gifts from contractors and suppliers.
The project included a sanctuary, gymnasium, commercial kitchen, educational facilities, administrative offices, washrooms and ancillary spaces.
